The Laguna P&C Association is excited to announce that our feature artist for 2010 is long time Wollombi local Col Harrison. Col's paintings often reflect his past lives as station rousabout, rabbit trapper, cattle drover and farmer amongst other endeavours.

This year's art show will begin, as always, with a gala Opening Night on Friday 27 August. The exhibition will be open to the public all weekend (28 and 29 August) from 10am to 4pm.

Opening night never fails to disappoint and this year will be no exception. Entry is $15 which includes entry to the 2010 exhibition and a glass of wine in a complementary Art Show wine glass. The restaurant will be serving a curry extravaganza (no booking necessary), there will be light entertainment and of course, the opportunity to be the first to purchase the must-have piece of art that catches your eye.

Over the weekend, the Arty Farty Café will be open for coffee, tea, sandwiches, cakes and slices and there will also be a BBQ lunch available on both days from 12-2pm.

There are a number of items up for raffle including the Afgan Quilt knitted by Anne and Judith and this table made by Gilou Faugere, along with Martin Clothier and Steve Sullivan with mosaic inlay by Michelle Loadsman.

The proceeds from the event go to furthering the education experience of the students at Laguna Public School. Funds from the 2009 Show have gone towards the installation of some large outdoor musical instruments to stimulate creative and dramatic play, visits from children's authors, art workshops with local artists and additional programmes to enhance the student's chess & filmmaking skills.

Tickets to opening night on Friday 27 August 2010 are $15 and available by phoning Laguna Public School on 02 4998 8251. Entry to the exhibition over the weekend is by gold coin donation. The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August.

Artists who are interested in entering this year's exhibition should contact Rob Williamson, the Art Show Coordinator for this year on 4998 3384.
