Residents of Broke are invited to a meeting to be held at the Broke Village Hall on Wednesday 14^th October at 6pm to discuss:

• A community website for Broke
• Christmas Carols in Broke
• The future of the Community Markets

There is a proposal to establish a website for the residents of Broke, giving information about what is happening in the village, at the school, dates of church services, bush fire alerts etc. A similar site exists for Wollombi and this can happen here too.

Carols in the Park have been a success but need to gain more popular support if they are to continue.

The bi-monthly markets have some strong and loyal supporters but not enough to justify the amount of energy and time that goes into organising and publicising them. Does the Broke community want these markets to continue?

The meeting will last for only one hour and is open to all.

1.  Development of a Community Web site for the Broke Community it's businesses and organizations

• Can contain emergency information-
• Fire plan
• Link to the central bush fire control centre for reports
• Weather information
• Historical information/ ancestral search
• Car Pooling
• Reuniting of lost friends
• Helping with information for prospective residents
• Employment section for local businesses
• Youth involvement
• Can provide a link to existing school and community websites.
• Business directory

2.  Community Christmas Carols - formation of a committee to look into the event

3.  Community Markets - does the community embrace these ?

4. Appointment of a Community Committee to work on the above desired actions.
