Greens Information Sessions on Draft Cessnock LEP (Local Environment Plan)

Cessnock-Kurri Greens will hold two information sessions on the Draft LEP for the Cessnock Local Government Area.
Cessnock Greens convenor Tim Plater said "There has been a lot of community interest in the Draft LEP particularly the proposed E3 zone around Mulbring and the Wollombi Valley. The heritage provisions have also been subject to public scrutiny."
"The Greens will be explaining what the E3 zones mean for the community so that individuals making submissions on the LEP can be fully informed."
"The public can make submissions until the end of January even though the public exhibition period ends shortly" Mr Plater said. 'The community can now be informed by the valuation report commissioned by Cessnock Council which shows the E3 Zone will not reduce property values."
Greens Councillors James Ryan and Chris Parker will be in attendance to present information on the issues and will field questions after the presentation.
"Our purpose will not be to tell residents what submissions they should make, rather we want to give people information to allow them to make an informed submission." Councillor Ryan said.
"James and Chris have a strong working knowledge of the LEP and its operation and will be able to outline its impact on the community if it is implemented" Tim Plater said.
The sessions will be held at Mulbring Hall at 7pm til 9pm on Thursday 10th December and Laguna Hall at 1pm til 3pm on Saturday 12th December.
