On Wednesday evening (10 March 6:30pm), there will be the main thrust of presentations to Council (from this area) on the Draft LEP.
This follows the two presentations by the Wollombi Valley Arts Council on 24 Feb in which they rightly recommended the re-inclusion of the contents of Clause 10 (v) in the current LEP to the proposed LEP, and then (against strong advice) went on to lend their support to the E3 zoning on behalf of their members, having never asked the membership for an opinion on the matter.
It seems that some of the WVAC Committee view themselves as an alternative Progress Association, operating though, without due process. The AGM is at 2pm today at the Cultural Centre.

Preceding Wednesday's presentations to Council, the Wollombi Valley Working Party (Draft LEP) will meet for the first time at 3pm in the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre. There were 20 people accepted following the nominations and due to the large number that nominated and were accepted, we have been split into two groups.
| GROUP A | GROUP B |
|---|---|
| Sandy Thomas | Ray Annis-Brown |
| Paul Selwood | Paula Thompson |
| Daryl Heslop | Pricilla Flemming |
| Paul Flemming | Stephen Sullivan |
| Veronica Chambers | Jane Mowatt |
| Stephen Annis-Brown | Peter Firminger |
| Brian Woodward | Bronwyn Duncan |
| Peter Migan | Mervyn Pyne |
| Paul Adams | Frederick Aubinean |
| Tony Royle | Stuart Gibson |
It will be interesting to see what happens with these sessions, given the diversity of opinions from within Council as to what the purpose of these meetings actually is. The groups seem to me to be pretty balanced politically which is important, though may not be relevant if it is simply a listening excersize.
I'll report back on Wollombi Valley Online (and I hope to see other reports posted
