MACS Newsletter
Date: 19-Dec-10

Hi Everyone,
Those of you who were around at the time of our first Newsletter will remember that we said we did not propose to bombard you with updates. Nearing the end of the first full year of operation, however, it seemed an appropriate time so attached is Newsletter#2.
We are sure all of us appreciate the support we have received from the Early Warning Network, not only because of their alerts but also the access they have so freely given MACS to the back-end of their communication system. Our committee is made up entirely of volunteers but we do incur some costs.
We are grateful to the Central Coast Plateau Chamber of Commerce and the Mangrove Mountain RSL Sub-Branch for their financial support. When we offered to pass some of this on to the EWN, they generously told us that they would prefer the funds to be put towards assisting MACS.
In addition to the alerts distributed by the EWN, MACS issued just over 30 alerts of a localised nature. These were mainly the result of information we received from MACS subscribers about incidents such as a series of burglaries and attempted breakins, blocked roads - and a missing horse!
We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
Thank you for your support,
Nick Mason
