Guests were entertained by the spectacular voices from Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools Choir, Louise Crosdale and Sarah Lewis making the evening more enjoyable.
This year Council received over 250 applications for 18 scholarships.. this is incredible and our sponsors are to be congratulated for their amazing contribution ensuring the success of the scheme and assisting the youth of the Cessnock LGA.

Jodie Tweed, the Towns with Heart hard working organising committee and the many volunteers are to be congratulated on the successful staging over the weekend of the 25, 26 & 27 March of the 2011 Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival. Over 35,000 - 40,000 people attended this exciting event making it yet another very successful event for Kurri Kurri. Events like this bring economic benefit to our area and we welcome these types of events to our City.

The Gala March Past of the opening of the 2011 season of Cessnock Netball Association was well attended on Saturday 26 March. I was pleased to be present to officially open the season at the conclusion of the very colourful march past.
Never confuse a mere bend in the road with the end of the line.
