Mayor and Mr Davey

Brian and I wish one and all a very blessed festive season and a healthy and safe New Year.

As the year draws to its close Cessnock City Council can reflect upon positive achievements that have been attained by the General Manager, the Directors, all staff both Indoor and Outdoor and Councillors working closely together as a united team.

We are on schedule with the implementation of the forty recommendations set down in the S430 report, and we have adopted other procedures that have streamlined the way in which motions are presented during the Council meeting and recorded in the minutes which are then posted on our website.  The large screen in the Chamber displays what is actually occurring as the motions are put.

We will have wireless internet availability in Vincent Street in early January this will prove a benefit to both locals and tourists who are visiting our area.

2010 will bring continued growth to our great City and the challenges that this brings will be met with enthusiasm by the General Manager, the Directors, all staff both Indoor and Outdoor and Councillors continuing to be focussed on a fruitful team approach.

"Keeping books with your soul at the close of the year is good preparation for starting the next year:"

Alison
