Anzac Day is on 25 April and this year marks the 95th Anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.   Anzac Day is a day of national commemoration when we pause to remember Australia's servicemen and women who served our nation with pride and valour in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs Department has produced educational resources, Gallipoli and the Anzacs for secondary school students, and Investigating Gallipoli for primary school students.  These resources can be downloaded for free from the Department website.

The Departments website contains useful instructions on how to conduct an Anzac Day ceremony, including a simple Order of Service that can be adapted to suit your individual needs. - For additional information about Anzac Day please contact the Commemorations Officer in NSW by phoning 133 254 or emailing commemorations@dva.gov.au or visit www.dva.gov.au/anzac.

Congratulations to 2010 Senior Citizen of the Year Mrs Glenis Ward for her magnificent contribution to our community. Glenis works tirelessly for the aged at various retirement establishments and volunteering her time at the Salvation Army Shop. Congratulations to Grace and Kevin Walters for their nomination for the NSW Seniors Week Achievement Award for outstanding contribution in community service and volunteering.

Martin Buxbaum words below sum up affectively our great seniors.

"Some people no matter how old they get,
Never lose their beauty -
They merely move it from their faces into their hearts."

Alison
