It is coming up to that time of year when the Laguna Public School Art Show committee send out entry forms to all of the Wollombi Valley's talented artists. The Art Show is now in its 19th year and we are always greatly impressed and delighted with calibre of work that gets submitted.
Entry is welcome to seasoned and budding artists so if you are not on the Art Show artist database and you would like to enter, please do not hesitate to contact Art Show coordinator, Rob Williamson on ph: 4998 3384 for an entry form.
Entry is not limited to canvas artists - we love to see photography, sculpture, woodwork and even jewellery!
Due to hit shop counters shortly are the Art Show raffle tickets. This year, we have a fantastic collection of prizes. One very special item is the The Great Afghan knitted quilt, industriously coming into being by two very talented Wollombi residents, Judith and Anne. They started this project in August 2009 and it still continues today! Every square inch of this quilt has been handstitched and as these two lovely ladies hail from successful legal careers, if they were to charge their going hourly rate, this quilt would be worth $7000!
The wool was kindly donated for this project by past Laguna School parent and Wollombi resident, Di Butterworth - thank you ladies, Laguna Public School P&C greatly appreciates all your effort.
We also have up for grabs a 42" Samsung colour plasma screen television, a 2 night mid-week getaway accommodation package, a bottle of vintage champagne, a Donna Hay cookbook pack, a Nivea pamper pack, a handmade 'My Fair Lady at the Races, ' porcelain reproduction doll, rustic horseshoe wine rack, an artwork by feature artist, Col Harrison and mosaic table.
Tickets will be available at Wollombi and Laguna General Stores so look out for them on the shop counters or wait for the smiling face and red shirt of a Laguna Public School student, clutching a booklet of raffle tickets to make their way towards you!
